Gau made from my popo (Chinese grandma)'s recipe. All sizes will have sesame seeds on top.
What is gau? It is a steamed rice pudding made of brown sugar and glutinous rice flour that is eaten during Chinese New Year. It is also known as nian gao. Nian gao literally translates to year cake, but it sounds similar to year high. It invites growth in all aspects of life, whether it be professional or personal.
